Autumn is upon us and the nights are drawing in.  Halloween is the perfect excuse to put on your spooky costume and have some frightul fun!

There will be lots of Halloween fun in Nottinghamshire in 2017, with events for the whole family, including scary activities, haunted walks, pumpkin carving and Halloween happenings at many of Nottingham's top venues and attractions.

Goose Fair at the Forest Recreation Ground, Nottingham

14th Oct:  Nottingham Comic Convention 2017 at the Nottingham Conference

21st to 22nd Oct:  Robin Hood Pageant at Nottingham Castle
21st to 27th Oct:   Tricks and Tonics at Bolsover Castle.

21st Oct to 5th Nov:  Spooky Halloween Terror Trail at Rufford Abbey.  Explore the
                                    haunted hideaways, creepy woods and hidden terrors.  The
                                    trail is self-led and can be bought from Visitor reception daily
                                    from 10.30 am to 4.00 pm.  Trails cost £1 and you'll receive a
                                    prize if you survive!

26th Oct:  Halloween at The Archives. Hear tales of Nottingham's exorcist and local
                  ghostly goings-ons, then listen to James Wright from the University of
                  Nottingham share the stor of the ritual protection markers unearthed locally.

27th Oct:  Halloween Party Family Night at the Richard Herrod Centre. 
                  Live music/disco, games and prizes, hot and cold food and licensed
                  bar.  Adults £1. Children - Free.  6.30 pm to 11.00 pm.

28th Oct:  Theatre Lighting Workshop. Dip your toe into the world of stage lighting. 
                  For age 18+.  The Old Library, Mansfield.  Booking essential by visiting

28th Oct:   Spooky Sprint at Wollaton Hall.  Family Fun Run, 5k or 10k.  Book at:

28th Oct:   Ezekial Bone:  Halloween Guts and Gore Tour.  No ordinary ghost walk.
                   Join Mr Bone as he haunts the Lace Market, telling grisly tales of Guts and
                   Gore.  Suitable for ages 10 and above.  Meet at Cross Keys NG1 2GJ.

28th Oct:   Halloween and Autumn Arts and Crafts Event at The Civic Centre, Arnot
                   Hill Park.  Take part in arts and crafts activities, listen to Halloween stories,
                   make a lantern, bat on a stick and more.  2 bookable session at 1.30pm  -
                   3.00pm and 3.30pm to 5.00pm.  FREE Event.  Booking Info here.

28th Oct:   Fireside Frighteners at Brewhouse Yard. While the fire warms your bones,
                   allow your spine to be chilled with Gothic tales from M R James, Bram Stoker
                   and stories of local hauntings. Then enjoy a supper of hotdogs and a warm
                   drink.  Suitable for aged 12 and over.  Wheelchair friendly.  £15pp. Suitable

29th Oct:  Meet The Ghosts of Nottingham Industrial Museum. Hear tales of the    
                  strange and ghostly things that happen when the visitors leave.  Includes

29th Oct:   Pumpkin Art Prize at Hart's Hotel, Nottingham.  Enter your pumpkin
                   masterpiece (adult and children's prizes available), as well as a kids' fancy
                   dress competition.  Pumpkin and mulled entry for all entrants.  From 5pm.

                           Wollaton Hall.  Also - the Dinosaurs of China: Satellite Exhibition at

30th Oct:  Halloween Fest 2017 - Halloween Ghost Hunt at the National Justice
                  Museum.  An overnight investigation, with ghost-hunting equipment,
                  experiments and vigils. More information and tickets here.
