
Sport Relief 2010: Rise to the Challenge
Miles of Sport Relief fun for everyone in Nottingham!
The people of Nottingham are gearing up for the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile this Sunday 21st March, and are in for a day of energy, entertainment and excitement. Musicians, street artists, jugglers and stilt walkers are among the acts set to entertain Milers and spectators down at Victoria Embankment.
There will also be a Salsa demonstration, 5-a-side football tournament, Bungee run, climbing wall and a bouncy castle. The whole day kicks off at 10.00am, and with a host of entertainment lined up, the NottinghamMile promises to knock your Sport Relief Socks off!
Hundreds of thousands of people are set to take to the streets at Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Miles across the length and breadth of the UK. As well as the Nottingham Mile there will be an array of exciting entertainment on the day with performances from belly dancers, a bangle tent and sporting challenges from Nottingham RUFC.
Whether taking part in the Mile, or cheering on family, friends or work colleagues, the Nottingham Mile promises to be a great day out, with something for everyone!
Coverage from the Mile events will be shown during the Sport Relief Mile Show on Sunday 21st March on BBC ONE, with those participating as the stars of the show.
So far, a host of famous faces from the worlds of sport and entertainment have risen to the challenge for this year’s Sport Relief, undertaking some truly inspirational feats. Blue Peter’s Helen Skelton became the first woman to kayak the Amazon, and the BT Sport Relief Million Pound Bike Ride saw seven celebrities cycle 1,000 miles from John O’Groats to Lands’ End in four days. Footage of these phenomenal challenges and more can be seen on BBC ONE on the night of top Sport Relief telly on Friday 19th March.
