Forest Recreation Ground
The Forest Recreation Ground sits about a mile north of the city centre and is well known to many visitors as the site of the annual Nottingham Goose Fair. In addition to hosting many other popular events, Forest Recreation Ground also has a variety of recreation facilities which includes football pitches, play areas, bowls greens and a number of designated leisure walks.

Goose Fair (FREE)
6th to 10th October 2010

With more than 700 years of history, Nottingham Goose Fair is one of Europe's most famous travelling fairs, and is still a fantastic event to delight all ages.

Over 500 attractions await fair-goers, from the latest white knuckle experiences, family rides and favourites including waltzers, carousels and Hook-a-Duck. 

Come along and experience the dazzling array of sights and sounds, and tuck into the local speciality of mushy peas and mint sauce or food from around the world.

Opening Times:
Wednesday 6th October 5.30pm – 11pm
Thursday 7th October 12 noon – 11pm
Friday 8th October 11am – 11.30pm
Saturday 9th October 11am – 11pm
Sunday 10th October 1pm – 9pm

Travel information


The easiest way to travel is by public transport, with regular services from the city centre direct to Goose Fair.

By Tram
Hop on the tram and alight at Forest Recreation Ground

By Bus
Take the Nottingham City Transport (NCT) Lime lines 56, 58, 59 or Purple lines 87,88,89 from Upper Parliament Street, or the Brown lines 15, 16, 17 or Yellow Lines 68, 69, 70, 71, 72 from Milton Street, (outside Waitrose). Services run at frequent intervals, stopping on Mansfield Road for the Fair.

Blue Badge Holders
There is no public parking available on site - except for Blue Badge holders. For directions to the Forest Recreation Ground, follow the Goose Fair signs
