Djanogly Recital Hall
Baroque specialists Rachel Podger, violin, and Gary Cooper, harpsichord, together with four string players, perform a programme of violin concerti and a harpsichord concerto by Johann Sebastian Bach as they would have been performed at Zimmermann’s coffee-house in Leipzig.
As a duo they have recorded the complete Mozart Sonatas for violin and keyboard on Channel Classics to great acclaim. This concert is linked to an exciting forthcoming recording project of all the Bach Concerti for violin and keyboard.
Bach Violin Concerto in E, BWV1042
Bach Violin Concerto in A minor, BWV1041
Concerto for Harpsichord & Strings in D minor, BWV1052
Concerto for Violin in G minor, BWV1056

Review title : Them with Frozen Tails, added by : Lisa (21/12/2010)
Event reviewed : 4-30 Dec: Them With Frozen Tails
"When you take two children under 6 to a performance, you never quite know what reaction you are going to get. However, I have to say with all honesty that I have never seen my son laugh so much at the antics of two people as I did today.
Them with Frozen Tails is a partly-improvised series of stories from around the World, narrated and acted by two very fine actors. There was singing and lots of energy and humour (some of which went over the kids' heads but was appreciated by the adults!)
There was plenty of audience participation and, I think it's safe to say, that the show was enjoyed by everyone there.
I would absolutely recommend this show, either as an alternative to the usual pantomime or, because its very good value for money at £7 per person, or as well. We will definitely be back for more if the show returns next year."
