Clumber Park

Covering 3,800 acres, Clumber Park was once the country estate of the Dukes of Newcastle.  Although the house was demolished in 1938 the ‘Cathedral in Miniature’, the vast Limetree Avenue and the spectacular glasshouses all remain to give clues to its grand past.  Why not experience a taste of the past in Clumber’s Walled Kitchen Garden or enjoy a meal in the National Trust’s first fine dining restaurant, Barkers.

Visitors can hire a bike from Clumber’s cycle hire centre and explore over 20 miles of way marked routes, or have a picnic by the lake.  Clumber’s new Discovery and Exhibition Centre opened in June 2011 – with an ever changing programme of exhibitions and events, there’s always something new to discover at Clumber Park.

THIS IS A PAST EVENT

FREE Entry until Xmas Day

We are delighted to be able to announce that the National Trust’s Clumber Park has re-opened to the public after closing on Tuesday 30 November due to the hazards caused by heavy snow and icy conditions. To celebrate the re-opening we are offering visitors an early Christmas present of free entry into Clumber Park until Christmas Day.

Clumber
Park is a special place all year round, with 3,800 acres of picturesque parkland, peaceful woodlands and a superb serpentine lake at its heart, but over the Christmas period it has even more to offer. Not only is there space to run around and explore, you can hire bikes to experience Clumber’s miles of cycle paths or just relax and chill out with family and friends over the Christmas period.

Some restrictions will still in place due to on-going tree work, Limetree Avenue will re-open, however Drayton Gate off the A614 and Truman’s Lodge off the B6043 will remain closed.
