Music for Everyone
4th July 2010

At Music for Everyone, we believe music is for everybody and this day is sure to include something YOU will enjoy.
Come along and programme your day choosing from orchestras, choirs, jazz bands and strings, indoors and outdoors, fun performances and exciting classical music experiences in a family friendly atmosphere.

Bring the family to this relaxed, friendly concert and see Music for Everyone's choirs and orchestras perform a varied repertoire from pops and jazz to classical peices. Find classical concerts a bit ‘stuffy’ sometimes? This one won’t be! It’s inspired by the Proms in London’s Albert Hall, with a wonderful variety of appealing music which all of the family will enjoy. The highlight of the day will be a festive concert especially designed to celebrate American Independence Day - come and join three hundred music makers of all ages to enjoy a really colourful programme. There’ll be a leisurely interval between the two halves of the programme, when you can ‘promenade’, enjoy refreshments and watch the Nottingham Carnival procession pass by.

Promenade Concert

The performance will feature many of the Music for Everyone groups including the Nottingham Festival Chorus, the East of England Singers, the Nottingham Concert Orchestra, Nottingham Girls’ Voices and Nottingham Boys’ Voices, members of the Music for Everyone Daytime Choirs and the BTDOYI Orchestra. The programme will include Bernstein’s thrilling Chichester Psalms, Barber’s hauntingly beautiful Adagio for Strings and Voices and Gershwin’s well known Porgy and Bess. More American favourites will include The Liberty Bell, Down by the RiversideThe Battle Hymn of the Republic.
