Experience a taste of local history at the Harley Gallery with Treasury Museum exhibition, Dinner with a Duke, which reveals fascinating details about food, recipes, and entertaining on a grand scale.

From William of Orange’s visit to Welbeck in 1695 until the onset of the 1914 War and the end of the ‘Golden Age’ of the great country house, this exhibition focuses on 400 years of entertaining at Welbeck, looking at lavish and fashionable tableware, entertaining as social duty, and the specialist departments that included hothouses, bakehouse, poultry house, dairy, fruit and vegetable gardens along with stories of servants eating and drinking too much while the family was away.
