Socialice
A fantastic session especially for adults, taking place between 10-11.30am on a Tuesday and Thursday when we have two ice pads in operation (see ice schedule for information). This will give over 18’s the chance to have a relaxed skate, sharpen their skills and meet up with friends.

Please take a look at our timetable for further information about session times. Please note extra sessions are put on during school holidays please visit www.national-ice-centre.com for more details.

Our Sporting Life Exhibition
9th November to 17th December 2010

A Celebration of Winter Sports Excellence opens at Nottingham’s National Ice Centre.

On Tuesday 9th November 2010 an exhibition that celebrates Nottingham’s rich winter sports heritage and Olympic connections opens at the National Ice Centre. The exhibition is part of the Our Sporting Life nationwide series that will culminate in the largest ever exhibition of British sporting heritage with its final display being in London for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Opening at Nottingham National Ice Centre on Tuesday 9th November 2010, the exhibition, like the others happening around the country, will highlight how sport has shaped the country, its communities and people. It features the story of the UK’s role in the Olympics, from its early days through to the current developments leading to the 2012 Games. There is an opportunity for everyone to get involved as Our Sporting Life wants to hear your sporting memories via their websitewww.oursportinglife.co.uk.

The National Ice Centre exhibition of Our Sporting Life will also focus on Nottingham’s winter sporting excellence, and will feature stories, articles, images and background information about some of the personalities, clubs and events that have been connected with Nottingham over the years.

Our Sporting Life is developed by the Sports Heritage Network and in the East Midlands is funded as part of the Igniting Ambition Cultural Olympiad programme, by Renaissance East Midlands, the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council, the Legacy Trust and is part funded by the European Union, with support from the National Ice Centre. Our Sporting Life in the East Midlands is being curated and project managed by ArtReach.
