Hints and Tips

We want to make sure your trip to the Outdoor Ice Rink is a magical one, so please have a look at the hints and tips we’ve put together to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.

  • Please arrive at the rink 30 minutes before your session so you have time to get your skates on, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy your full session on the ice.
  • The ice rink is out in the open-air and skating will go on whatever the weather, rain, or shine! So make sure you wrap up warm, pull on your thick socks and don’t forget your gloves and woolly hat.
  • Don’t worry if you’re an absolute beginner, our on-ice assistants will be around to lend you a hand and pass on some basic skating tips.
  • There are a small number of lockers on-site located behind skate hire – the charge is £1 and they will be accessed by our rink assistants. Skaters are also reminded that bags, mobiles, cameras, long scarves and personal music players are not allowed on the ice at any time, so leave them at home if you can.
  • Children will love the fun they can have on the ice and the smallest skate size we have is a child’s size seven. It is up to Mums and Dads to decide if their child is safe to skate, but youngsters under the age of eight must be accompanied by an adult. Any children under two will not be allowed on the rink and please do not lift or carry youngsters on the ice in the interest of safety.
