NOTTINGHAM TO WELCOME HOME THE QUEENS ROYAL LANCERS
The people of Nottingham are invited to show their support to soldiers from The Queens Royal Lancers when the Regiment parades through the city on Friday to mark their return from Afghanistan.
The people of Nottinghamshire are invited to line the route on Friday 10th December when around 200 soldiers from the Regiment march from St Mary’s Church to the Old Market Square. Over 100 of the soldiers on parade will be from Nottinghamshire.
Accompanied by the Heavy Cavalry and Cambrai Band, the soldiers will step off from St Mary’s Church at 10am.
The route will see the soldiers march from St Mary’s Church, High Pavement to Lower Pavement, Albert Street onto Wheeler Gate, Long Row and King Street.
The Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor Brian Grocock and Major General (Retd) Andrew Cummings CBE will take the salute on the Market Square (the dias will be positioned outside Debenhams).
Following the parade, the soldiers will fall out and attend a civic reception at the Council House.
