Join our Year of the Dragon Outdoor Celebrations involving music and dance performed by members of our visiting
international Chinese community and local community, featuring traditional Lion dance and Dragon Dances, and including the first ever performances of several new works created especially for young East Midlands dancers by visiting professional choreographer Rong Tao from Chongqing.
Performance programme from 4.30pm:
• Dragon Dance by the Chinese Students and Scholars Association
• Lion Dance by Notts and Derby 7 Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu School
• Premieres of new dance works by Dance4 CAT (Centre for Advanced Training) created by Rong Tao
• Rylands Junior School dance performance
• Fan Mang Mang traditional dance performance • Nottingham Chinese School music and dance performance
• Images of China by Yuan-Hsiung Wang and Xue Qian accompanied by traditional Chinese music performed Zhang and Hulusi by Miss Siming Ma and Miss Beibei Yeli
• Charnwood Dance Company new work created by Rong Tao
Fireworks at 6pm
Fireworks Spectacular across the Lake at 6pm, created for Lakeside by Crescendo Fireworks.
