This summer meet the Villainous Sheriff and his rival Robin Hood in our family friendly actor led tour and take part in many free activities! Visit the caves, dungeons and prison cells in Nottingham’s historic Shire Hall

After meeting the Villainous Sheriff of Nottingham and his rival Robin Hood, listen, learn, create and explore in our 5 unique exhibitions:

Convict Ship: A Journey Into The Unknown

Dr Massey’s Cabinets of Crime

Steeped in history with children’s activities galore including face painting and a family archaeological adventure in the Sheriff’s Dungeon!*

"I know this because I saw him! And the Sheriff! What a great day out, and a fascinating insight into how felons used to be dealt with! Hung or thrown into an oubliette, it's no wonder that crime was so much lower in those days. If you have a stong enough stomach, visit some of the ghastly museum exhibits. Learn about the Prison Surgeon and view some of the relics from his disturbing hobby, or view some of the gruesome devices designed to punish inmates. Visit the Sheriffs Dungeon, gaze down into the pit where hapless souls were thrown and left to either starve or become insane - and just pray that they are wrong and that there are no bones still lingering beneath the attraction. All in all, a fantastically frightening day out and close to lots more Nottingham attractions if you fancy something a little lighter."

"We all enjoyed our visit to the Galleries Of Justice. Our 8 year old thoroughly enjoyed it, with a court room scene that my husband played a witness in, to the jailer picking on me! You all have a prison number and you can find yourself on the boards and find out what crime you committed. A great couple of hours! We even survived being shut in a real prison cell......"
