TAKE PART IN WORLD GIRLS’ HOCKEY DAY AT THE NATIONAL ICE CENTRE
Sticks and pucks at the ready – it’s time to celebrate World Girls’ Hockey Day here at the National Ice Centre.
This is a fantastic opportunity for females aged between five and seventeen, to give ice hockey a try in a safe and fun environment. This free event is being held at the NIC on Sunday 2nd October between 5.30 and 7pm and is the brainchild of The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).
Events will be taking place across the globe to mark this occasion but this will be the only one in the UK, giving girls a chance to learn about fair play, sportsmanship and team work and to make new friends.
You don’t have to have played ice hockey before to give it a try and we will supply equipment – if you have your own though please feel free to bring this along.
You’ll be taught the tricks of the trade by our Head Coach Mike Urquhart (who is a former GMB Nottingham Panthers player) and his team of Hockey coaches.
The event, sponsored by Capital One, is being organised by the Nottingham Ice Hockey Club and after the event you can watch the Nottingham Lions Ice Hockey Team play Coventry from 7.30pm.
Registration is 4.45pm at the NIC and to get your name down email wghdnottingham@gmail.com
