THIS IS A PAST EVENT
21st January 2012
Location: Colwick Woods Local Nature Reserve, Colwick
The giant planet Jupiter with it's retinue of moons will be visible all evening. Mighty Orion will be high in the south and we will be viewing the great Orion Nebula - a huge stellar nursery. Bring your binoculars and let us show you some of the most beautiful binocular objects in the winter sky.
The Nottingham Wildlife Trust will be conducting a woods walk, with an astronomer to guide you around the sky. Tea, coffee and hot soup will be available in the Pavillion from the Friends of Colwick Woods; with displays, telescopes and friendly astronomers to answer your questions.
Free on-road parking is available on Greenwood Road, outside the Old Bowling Green. Wrap up warm with plenty of layers! Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
