Come along and help us celebrate the 200th birthday of one of the world’s greatest ever writers.
Monday 13 February – Paper Toys
Have a go at making a couple of the simple playthings that
Dickens-era children loved.
Tuesday 14 February – Greetings Cards
Design your own card for someone special (Your Valentine?) Decorate it with cut-ups from Dickens.
Wednesday 15 February – Toy Theatre
Bring Dickens’ timeless stories to life on your very own
cardboard stage.
Thursday 16 February – Keepsake Boxes
Make a Dickensian container for all those precious knick-knacks.
Sessions are 10am – 12noon (drop in for as little or as long as you like)
The cost is £1 per person. There is no need to book but places are limited so you may have to wait on the day for a place to become available. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times)
Friday 17 February – Boz’s Big Birthday Bash
(Free Event) 10 – 12 noon
Details to be confirmed but probable activities include storytelling; large-scale illustration; silhouette making and, possibly, gruel making.
