Georgetown Restaurant

Georgetown offers the best of Malaysian cuisine inspired by Malay, Mandarin and Tamil influences. All served with a twist in the historic Colwick hall, home of the romantic poet Lord Byron. The menu also boasts fantastic modern British cuisine.

The Georgetown Restaurant is situated in the exquisite front dining room with its stunning ceiling depicting Venus and the cherubs. The long bar serves as the Singapore Sling station as Chopin and Mozart's music played for the discerning diner.

Guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the bar and lounge area before sitting down for dinner.

Georgetown can accommodate up to 70 guests and also offers private dining facilities.

The Georgetown Restaurant is open from 12 - 3.00pm for lunch and 6.00 - 11.00pm for dinner.

Georgetown Restaurants are Britain's first colonial Malaysian restaurants bringing the varied and exquisite cuisines of the Malaysian Malays, Mandarin Chinese and Tamil Indians under one roof.

Our Dinner Menu is served from 6.00 pm onwards

To Start:

Soup of the day £4.50

Chargrilled chicken satay with a delicious peanut sauce £6.50

Goats cheese and red onion croquettes with vine roasted tomatoes and salad £4.50

Laksa Lemak, spiced noodle soup with chicken, prawns and beansprouts £5.75
(a vegetarian version is also available)

Murtabak, minced beef wrapped in soft pastry and toasted on a griddle £6.50

Peppered chicken with fresh mango and iceberg £7.25

Baked ham and spring onion terrine with piccalilli £5.75

Rendang Daging, medallions of beef in a rich and aromatic sauce £14.50

Roasted Spatchcock chicken marinated in garlic and rosemary £12.95

Wild mushroom and asparagus risotto £10.25

Captains Curry, breast of chicken gently cooked in a mild curry on a bed of rice £10.95

Udang Tempura, crisply fried king prawns Japanese style £16.95

Chicken or Vegetarian Shaslik £11.50

Seared scallops on a crab and leek potato cake with a lime and caper butter sauce £12.50

Cajun spiced fish steak served with rustic vegetables and tangy salsa £12.25

Sirloin Steak 10oz served with handcut chips, beer battered onion rings accompanied with the sauce of the day £18.95 (£5 supplement on special offer).

Lamb Briyani, fan of slow cooked lamb delicately spiced, served with aromatic rice £12.95

Our Blackboard menu offers 2 courses for £12.50 pp at lunch times from 12noon to 2.30pm and also early evening from 6 to 7pm. Children's Menu also available on request.
