Tourist Information Centre

Whether you're planning to visit Newark, Southwell or any parts of the district, we can help you plan and enjoy your stay with our extensive range of original souvenirs, local interest books, guidebooks, maps and postcards. Our souvenirs and books can also be bought by mail, email or over the phone. We also sell Theatre Tokens, which are accepted at over 240 theatres nationwide, including Newark Palace Theatre.

Newark has a host of exciting attractions for visitors including museums, Newark Castle, a market and Palace Theatre Newark, as well as interesting walks and Civil War trails so you can really get a feel of the historical significance of our picturesque town.

We can can now book National Express tickets or day excursions with Travel Wright website for personal callers to the Newark Tourist Information Centre, as well as leaflets and brochures to help you make the most of your trip. We can also help you book bus and rail transport.

We offer a local room bookings service and a 'book a bed ahead' service for national bookings.

You can book tickets for tours of Newark Castle, get information on our museums and exhibitions, as well as leaflets on attractions throughout the East Midlands and the UK.

We stock an extensive range of original souvenirs, local interest books, guidebooks, maps and postcards. Our souvenirs and books can also be purchased by mail, email or over the phone.  We also sell Theatre Tokens, which are accepted at over 240 theatres nationwide, including Newark Palace Theatre, as well as all of London's West End theatres. The tokens are available in denominations of £5, £10 and £20, and they have no expiry date.

Newark Community Carol Concert
14 December, 11am, Newark Market Place


After the huge success of the 2013 concert, the Newark Community Carol Concert is back for 2014.

The concert starts at 11am in the historic Newark Market Place, with carols sung by local schools, and music provided by the Newark Town Band.

The market place will be filled with local businesses promoting the best in independent local shops who form part of the Totally Locally group, who's aim is to showcase the best that Newark has to offer shoppers. There will also be refreshments on sale from retro caterers.

Why not join in on the day and sing along with the carols that schools have selected, as well as some other festive-favourites.

Also, Newark Santa Dash

Get set for the first ever Newark Santa Dash set to take place on Carol Concert Sunday.
Raising money for local charities, the event aims to see local residents dashing around Newark Market Place dressed as our favourite festive friend.

The start and finish will be by theTown Hall, and will see those taking part run several laps of the market place, past Starbucks, the White Hart and Clinton Arms Yard, completing the circuit by running past the Town Hall.
