The Great Central Railway (Nottingham) boasts over nine miles of track from Ruddington to Loughborough on the old Great Central Railway line. Trains run to Rushcliffe Halt, and on some occasions to Loughborough, offering an18 mile round trip.
Not only do we offer the experience of travelling on the old GCR main line, but we also are home to the Nottingham Society of Model and Electrical Engineers (NSMEE) offering rides on their small gauge tracks.
Being set in the beautiful Rushcliffe Country Park, visitors can plan a complete day out, which offers attractive scenery, a network of footpaths, a wildlife lake, .an excellent children's play area and a kiosk selling teas, coffees and ice creams. Ruddington village Centre (approx 20 minute walk from the Heritage Centre station) has pubs and shops.
