Moorgreen Show

The 2012 Moorgreen Country Show features a myriad of entertaining, educating and enjoyable attractions!

Along with the Show’s regular and traditional showcase of the area’s rich rural heritage - strongly featuring agricultural and horticultural content - the 2012 Moorgreen Show is packed to the brim with something for everyone. Our proposed programme inclues the Digger Dance Team, the hilarious Racing Pigs, a Working Truck Show, Polly’s Parrots Road Show, 200 Equestrian Classes, and exclusive events taking place on the Saturday, including a Clay Pigeon Shoot, Victorian Steam Fair, Hog Roast and much much more!

26th - 27th Aug 2012: Moorgreen Show

26th and 27th August 2012

There's so much to see and do we are confident that the 163rd Moorgreen Country Show will live up to its reputation of offering "a champion day out for the whole family". The full programme is being planned with the final programme being anounced in the next couple of months.

We have two vintage engines making their way to Moorgreen Show which we hope you will look out for and support as they come your way.

Our two very special engines are a ‘Fowler BB1 Ploughing engine NO 15441 from 1920’  affectionately named as TIGGER by his owner David Shelmerdine of Trowell, Notts.  Tigger is accompanied on his journey by a ‘Ruston and Hornsby Engine No 115100 from 1922’ named Hilary and owned by Colin Brotherwell and Family of Toton Notts.

Follow the engines' progress as they move ‘slowly’ from Trowel on Saturday the 25th of August at 10am and travel along the A609 to the Junction with the A6002 to the Watnall Island and on to the showground passing the bakery and vehicle test centre.

Journey time expected to take around 1.5hrs.  Both vehicles will be towing either an implement, water tank or a living van.

Please show your appreciation as they pass and support them and Moorgreen Show on August 26th and 27th.  Tigger and Hilary form part of an increased presence this year at Moorgeen of Steam engines, vintage vehicles of all sorts and commercial vehicles.

See you there.
