Angela Kay (conductor)

Come and join us for this vibrant concert on Music for Everyone’s 30th Birthday, under the baton of MfE’s inspirational founder and dynamic artistic director, Angela Kay.

Full of colour and variety, the programme will be a wall-to-wall celebration of thirty years of music-making in the East Midlands and of the joy of music itself!

You will love the sparky exuberance of Poulenc’s sunny Gloria and lose yourself in the lush beauty of Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music. The exhilaration of the huge chorus and full symphony orchestra will carry you irresistibly along, as they perform Haydn’s joyous ‘Achieved is the Glorious Work’ from The Creation. Experience the jubilation of John Rutter’s Psalm 150, highlighting each musical instrument in turn for celebration, and taste the future with the MfE 30th Birthday commission, When Music Sounds, a brand-new piece for large-scale choir and orchestra by prize-winning young composer Rebecca Dale, a specialist in writing music for film and television.
