Petanque is known around the world as Boules. It is an exciting game that was first played in France and is quickly becoming very popular around the world. It can be played outdoors by anyone, whatever their age or ability.
Nottingham City have offered their full support to construct a club offering 28 international-sized pétanque pistes and this will be the largest of its kind in the Midlands. Pétanque is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and the club would like to help its development.
Social and competition events will be organised across various categories, and the club also hopes to attract national and international competitions. The 'Nottingham Open' is already being planned for 2011.
