"Yesterday, we finished a tour of "every big building and old pile of rocks from Paris to Portree and from Colchester to Dublin," as my Mum put it. At about four tours per day for 30 days, she's probably not wrong. "Who was our best guide?" I asked. "Chris of Nottingham" came her fast reply, "though most were excellent." The LonelyPlanet guidebook (and Rick Steves' omission) so lowered our expectations we almost didn't come, but Chris Slade's unique insight elevated Nottinghamshire to one of the trip's highlights, putting it on that very short list of places we'd like to live, work, or retire, as well as visit again. Without The Nottingham Experience, it might well have become just another old pile of rocks near some legendary forest. With Chris' tour, we saw far more than we could have on our own in the time we had. You haven't experienced Nottingham until you've had The Nottingham Experience."

"Chris was an excellent tour guide being extremely knowledgeable, articulate, and fun. He related extremely well not only to the older adults but the younger adults on the tour as well. His knowledge of the area and stressing points of interest created a stimulating tour for everyone. All the details of the tour, including arrangements for a great pub lunch were made for us by Chris via email from the US. This made the trip much easier for the leaders. We highly recommend Chris and the Nottingham Walking Tour for any group coming to Nottigham. Thanks so much Chris and hope to see you with other groups in the future."

"We had a fantastic time touring Nottingham with Chris! He was informative, friendly, passionate about Nottingham, and extemely considerate to our wishes and suggestions regarding the tour. "A strong interest in family history, including my ancestry from Nottinghamshire and the settlement of the Plymouth Colony in America, led my wife and me to The Nottingham Experience and Chris Slade. With the ability to arrange all details of our trip with him in advance via internet from home in America, we arrived to find that Mr. Slade had made a perfectly planned and timed itinerary for us. Since he had never before done the specialized tour that we had requested, he had researched the story of the Pilgrim Fathers, made a dry run of the itinerary and even made arrangements to enter local churches and homes of interest; he also purchased information that he knew was not available to us at home. Mr Slade takes great pride in his travel services, is very knowledgeable, friendly and articulate and was most hospitable to us. His tour exceeded our expectations and I would heartily recommend him to anyone exploring the areas that he services."

"During the summer of 2010 myself and my partner visited Nottingham for holiday and business. During our two week visit we went on 4 tours with Chris: The City, Sherwood Forest / Abbey , Southwell / Work House, and Chatsworth. Chris provided excellent and curtious service, and was very knowledgable of the area and its history. His tours made our visit quite memorable! Due to our mobility limitations, the door-to-door service that Chris provided was vital to our ability to see the sights. We enthusiastically recommend Chris and The Nottingham Experience!! "

"My parents recently came to visit Nottingham from the United States, and although I have been living in Nottingham for over three years with my partner and children, there is so much we still don't know about his wonderful area that we decided to hire The Nottingham Experience for a half-day guided tour, including a trip out to Sherwood Forest. It was a memorable and interesting day, and Chris not only posseses a dazzling knowledge of the area and its fascinating history, but is a considerate guide and a delightful companion. This was my parents' favorite activity during their stay here, and I heartily recommend this company for great value and the highest quality service."

"My wife and I were in Nottingham on business and had two days to see the area prior to the start of the work week. Our guide Chris gave us a fabulous experience that we would never have been able to enjoy otherwise. We visited the Ctattsworth estate and Sherwood Forrest on two different tours. Chris was very knowledgable and gave the history and background on each site. He knew the best times to visit and how to make the most of each tour. We would highly recommend his services!

"While taking a driving trip around the UK my husband and I decide we wanted to see Nottingham and surrounding area. We booked a trip with Chris and had the most amazing time! We enjoyed our visit so much we made a return trip two years later to see even more. We hope to return again! Chris is a fantastic ambassador for the area and has an incredible amount of historical knowledge, Comfortable and friendly this tour is a must do if you are in the Nottingham area!"

"My wife and I went on the Mobile Tour, it having been recommended by friends of ours. Although we have lived in the Nottingham area for most of our lives we were amazed at the things we didn't know about our own city and the venues which were visited and fully explained on the tour. Chris, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable about Nottingham, it's history and it's personalities and was able to fully answer the numerous questions put to him by those on the tour. The tour itself was well organised, interesting and informative and excellent value for money. We'd recommend it to anyone visiting Nottingham for the first time or thinking of moving to the area or even, like ourselves, wanting to know a little more about the place they've lived in for years! "I spent an afternoon being shown around Nottingham & surrounds by Chris as my company was considering basing their office in Nottingham so I wanted an idea on places to live etc. Chris & I conversed by email first of all & he was excellent at communicating & finding out exactly what my needs were for my proposed move. The time we spent travelling around Nottingham & surrounds was both informative & helpful & Chris went out of his way to cover everything that he thought would be of interest to me . A fantastic service that I would thoroughly recommend to anyone!"
